Every Saturday at 2 p.m., Seoul City Hall Plaza fills with diverse political chants. Conservative groups advocate for liberal values, left-wing groups criticize the current government, environmental organizations protest Japan’s discharge of nuclear wastewater, and teachers' unions call for the restoration of teachers' rights and changes in education policy. In that space, I imagine the ancient Greek agora, a symbol of democracy, as I press the camera shutter.
