Bongsan Village

Bongsan Village in Busan, designated as a depopulation risk area in Korea, faces an aging population and a declining birth rate. While the few remaining residents and the local government strive to revitalize the village and attract newcomers through regional regeneration projects, the village continues on a slow path toward extinction. In this charming coastal hillside village with its maze of winding alleys, it’s rare to see the remaining residents in photos.
